Why join THISD?
THISD’s Mission and Vision serves as the foundation for all its members. We believe that efforts to ‘make a difference’ in supporting a more sustainable future for global tourism and hospitality is worthy of time and energy.
THISD offers a variety of training products, research opportunities and seminars and conferences. As an individual or organization you can assist and support our mission as well as benefiting from access to networking opportunities.
If you are a full-time student in a tourism and hospitality post graduate Institution of Higher Education and provide documentation to support your status, you can join THISD free of annual fees. Reasons to join THISD include :
- Participation in THISD development projects with THISD written recognition of services provided for quality and timely outcomes
- Use of THISD web services to support student networking between campus based Green Teams, Social Responsibility Committees, etc. (With adequate participation, student headed sections will be added)
- Development of an annual student research competition program focusing on sustainable tourism and targeting undergraduate schools with tourism and hospitality education programs
- Obtaining project mentor support for research evaluated to be consistent with the THISD Mission
Do you have to live in Lausanne?
No. Although THISD is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, we welcome interested members from across the globe. In the future we aim to support Campus-based Chapters and would encourage all those who support our aims and vision to become members.
Membership Fee
Free to full-time students.
